Tonight was the final night of competition for Miss America 2009. We were sad that our Miss Texas, Rebecca Robinson, was not among the Top 15 at tonight's pageant. We are still so very proud of her and look forward to seeing her around our great state! Rebecca was selected as Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants. Congratulations to Katie Stam, our new Miss America. Katie competed as Miss Indiana and is the first Miss Indiana to win the MIss America crown.

Tonight we saw Rebecca compete in Talent. She did a great job! Congratulations to Miss New York and Miss Vermont on their preliminary wins tonight. The emcees for the evening were Mignon Merchant Ball, Miss Oklahoma 1986; and Judi Ford Nash, Miss America 1969.

Another fun evening at Miss America preliminary competition. Rebecca competed Swimsuit and Evening Gown tonight, and looked GREAT in both! Congratulations to Miss Mississippi and Miss Georgia on their preliminary wins tonight. The emcees for the evening were Dena Blizzard, Miss New Jersey 1995; Lauren Nelson, Miss America 2007; and Lee Meriwether, Miss America 1955. After the competition, we were again able to visit with Rebecca.

It's so exciting to be at the 2009 Miss America Pageant! Ron has been here all weekend; Faith arrived today. Tonight was the first night of preliminary competitions and Rebecca competed in On-stage Question. Congratulations to Miss Delaware and Miss Indiana on their preliminary wins tonight. The emcees for the evening were Kelly Garver, Miss Michigan 1986 and 3rd Runner-up to Miss America; Heather French Henry, Miss America 2000; and Jennifer Berry Gooden, Miss America 2006. After the competition, we were able to visit with Rebecca.
